We both ordered from the sandwiches menu at $10 per sandwich and fries. It was dark already so we did not have a view of the lake but we will definitely be back to see it. Great lighting and LOVED the hardwood and decor. I assume from the “No Parking” spray painted on the dividers next door the parking can be a challenge on busy nights. We visited on a Sunday evening about 8pm and had no issue parking even with a truck and trailer. There were a few suits dining alongside us, but we felt comfortable. We aren’t gated community kind of people and really enjoyed our dinner. It is located in a gated community type residential area. The mixed reviews about this restaurant have a lot to do with the people who visit, I believe. She deserved every tip that she received that night. Our waitress was very busy but she was able to check on us and take care of all her tables very well. With scallops and Shrimp and Mussels done again in a very nice creamy white wine garlic sauce. As for the Pasta now this was what I felt the best part of the meal. It had a very good taste and the potato was a very good size. The steak was seared perfectly and not over or under done. For our Entre we ordered the Sea Food Pasta and the Delmonico Steak cooked medium with a Baked Potato. Next came our Caesar Salads, I have to say that these were very original and I have not found many to make them correctly but these were fantastic. The Fried Green Tomatoes were ok just not my specialty. The clams were done in a white wine garlic sauce and they were fantastic. The appetizer came first which was Clams and Fried Green Tomatoes the nights special. Our food was brought out properly which I was surprised. We placed our orders all at once with an appetizer. The had a very nice selection of wines to cover most everyone's pallet. After being seated we did not have to wait long for our waitress. I did not call ahead for a reservation but they worked hard to make accommodations as quickly as possible. Upon entering I felt it was a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The place may be a little trick to find and when you do find it, do not judge the place by its outdoor décor. When I was searching for a nice place to eat I found their listing and remembered the recommendations. We would come back in again if in the area.I had heard about the lake house from a friend, but that was several years ago. The breading was too thick that my girlfriend said it overpowered the oyster taste. Missed a 5 star rating from me because while the food was good, the steak justed didn't have me wanting more. Over heard the people behind us mention the same thing. Our only issue and it wasn't the restaurants fault was there was a heavy set lady who seemed to be a regular (bartender's knew her) that was very loud and she didn't seem to care that her voice and laughing carried that it drowned out the music playing. The cost was average for this style restaurant/bar. A little too much breading on them but still good. My girlfriend had fried oysters and she was happy with them. The crab cake was very good (I eat Crab Cakes all over and work near the Chesapeake Bay and this area is known for their Crabs and such) No filler in the crab cake and it wasn't mushy so it was a better one I have had lately. I thought my steak was very good but nothing that had my mouth watering. He then got pretty busy and we had to ask him to take our order (not a big deal but) Food came out pretty quick even though the restaurant part and bar were almost to capacity. Bartender/server quickly took our drink orders. Place was full and we sat in the bar area. Not great but we decided to give it a try since there was no way we were going back into Morgantown to eat at 830 at night. Stopped at the Lakehouse Bar after a late Mountaineers game (they lost so the mood was down.lol) We were staying neaeby and the reviews were ok.
